This report looks at the momentum seen in the Ansible modules codebase. It examines the time-series of all modules & modules by domain, and includes some forecasting of the expected momentum through the rest of 2019.

The analysis uses the commit logs from GitHub (for ansible/ansible), and looks at the changes in the lib/ansible/modules directory. There are 11757 commits affecting this directory in the last 3 years.

Momentum in new modules

Here we look at the number of new modules added to the codebase per month. New is defined as when a file has status:added rather than changed. Also shown is the trend (that is, removing the seasonal component) and a forecast for both the raw and trend lines:
